About
VaiLaplace Lab explores the boundary between chaos and prediction. Inspired by Laplace's Demon—the hypothetical intelligence that could calculate the entire future of the universe if it knew every particle's position and velocity—we build AI agents that approximate this ideal.
Laplace's Demon
In 1814, Pierre-Simon Laplace imagined a "universal intellect" that knew the precise position and momentum of every atom in the universe. With this perfect knowledge, there would be no uncertainty—only deterministic outcomes.
We can't know everything. But with modern AI agents scraping cultural signals, building models, and generating forecasts, we can get closer. /deny uncertainty/ isn't about eliminating chaos—it's about pushing the boundary of what we can predict.
The Lab
VaiLaplace Lab is a solo side project running on a single Mac mini in a New York apartment. It runs OpenClaw agents that:
- Scrape cultural signals from news, social media, and trends
- Process and structure data into usable features
- Generate directional forecasts on currency pairs
- Document findings in the Lab Notebook
The Mascot
The geometric rabbit in tuxedo is our mascot—a reference to the "Laplace's Demon" in formalwear. It represents the analytical pursuit of prediction, dressed for the occasion.
Time Commitment
~12-20 hours per week alongside a corporate role. This is a passion project—an experiment in building agentic AI workflows with minimal infrastructure.
